The Texas Heroes Monument at Broadway and Rosenberg Avenue in Galveston was funded by a $50,000 bequest from philanthropist Henry Rosenberg to commemorate those who fought in the Texas Revolution. Sculpted by Louis Amateis and built by the New England Granite Works with bronze figures cast in Rome, the roughly 74-foot memorial is crowned by a bronze female figure of Victory and names seventeen figures of the revolution. It was unveiled on April 22, 1900, marking the anniversary of the Battle of San Jacinto, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
