History

The Harwood Masonic Cemetery is one of the burial grounds at Harwood, a town that grew up in 1875 as a stop on the Galveston, Harrisburg and San Antonio Railroad and was named for attorney Thomas Moore Harwood, who helped develop the railway. Land for burials was set aside when the town was platted.
