History

Greenwood Cemetery lies behind the church in the Greenwood community of eastern Hopkins County, reached south of Interstate 30 by way of FM 900. Settlers were living in the area by the 1870s, including families who came from Alabama, and the burial ground holds pioneers and Civil War veterans such as Ben F. Patrick, who was interred here in 1902.
