Pine Forest Cemetery is associated with the farming community of Pine Forest in southeastern Hopkins County, first settled in 1853 by Joseph T. Minter. Minter donated land for a Methodist church organized by the Rev. P. B. Bailey, and the settlement, originally called Mount Pisgah, later took the name Pine Forest. By the 1930s the community had two schools, two stores, and this cemetery.
