History

Wieland (Weiland) Cemetery serves the old Wieland community about ten miles south of Greenville and is made up of three land tracts, the first deeded in October 1871 to J. A. Steele, Peter Day, J. F. Bradberry, T. J. Coker, and John O. Wilkinson. A second tract was added in 1881. The cemetery was first documented in the 1979 Cemetery Inscriptions of Hunt County and holds roughly 1,200 burials.
