History

Located at the edge of Cuevitas in southern Jim Hogg County near Charco Largo Creek, this small unnamed burial ground is associated with the historic ranching town founded by brothers J. and F. Guerra. Cuevitas had a post office by 1894 and supported a church, school, and cemetery serving cattle-country families on land that had been part of Jose de Escandon's colonial land grant.
