History

Keilers Cemetery is a small family burial ground of about twenty graves tucked into the woods on private property off County Road 147 near Sublime in eastern Lavaca County. Its oldest legible marker is that of Herman Botard, who died August 9, 1875. Early records suggest the plot went by several names over the years, appearing on death certificates and obituaries as the Honey Creek, Botard, and Pawlek cemeteries.
