History

Breslau Cemetery serves the farming community of Breslau in western Lavaca County, one of several local settlements named after European cities by the German and Czech immigrants who arrived in the 1860s and 1870s to grow cotton on small farms. The cemetery is reached by crossing the Lavaca River west of the community. Nearby stands the small St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, whose oldest marker dates to 1910.
