History

Rosemound Cemetery, on Garden Drive in Waco, was platted in 1923 as a low-cost perpetual-care cemetery, and the first recorded burial was that of J. H. B. Lacy on February 2, 1924. The grounds were laid out in curvilinear blocks with dedicated sections, among them an area for Mexican burials, a Hebrew section first used about 1930, and a Veterans of Foreign Wars section established in the mid-1930s. The Rosemound Cemetery Association was formed around 1960.
