History
The Methodist Episcopal Church, South congregation was organized in Amarillo in 1888; this Gothic Revival church on Polk Street was designed by the Reuben Harrison Hunt Company and opened in 1928, with additions in 1953 and 2012. It is noted for its carillon tower and 1928 stained glass, including a 'Good Shepherd' window installed in 1952. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.
