History

Morris Chapel Cemetery sits south of the Rugby community on FM 410, behind the Morris Chapel Missionary Baptist Church on the Samuel Neely survey. A deed dated 1910 conveyed a half-acre for the cemetery, and the oldest marked grave is that of William Forester, who died in February 1919 and was the only young man from the community who failed to return from World War I. About 99 burials had been documented by 2004.
