History

Tivoli #2 is one of the burial grounds of Tivoli, a northeastern Refugio County town founded in 1907 by Preston R. Austin and named after his Tivoli Ranch. The town grew quickly after surveyor J. W. Ward platted it, reaching a peak population of about 700 by 1928, and its Catholic church, donated by Austin around 1908, anchored the community these cemeteries serve.
