History
The F. W. Woolworth Building at 501 Houston Street in Fort Worth's Sundance Square was designed by architect Wiley G. Clarkson and built in 1925. Intended to rise ten stories, it was completed as a three-story concrete and steel structure faced in white Texas limestone with an elaborately carved frieze beneath the cornice. It housed a Woolworth five-and-dime store until 1990 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.
