History
First Presbyterian Church at 400 Orange Street in Abilene was built in 1924 in the Gothic Revival style, designed by the David S. Castle Co. and featuring a gabled roof and a three-story bell tower. The congregation had organized in 1881, first worshiping in a tent and later a wood-frame building before erecting this church. Considered Abilene's best-preserved historic church, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.
