History

The Schauer Filling Station was a 1929 service station at the corner of Oxford and West 14th streets in the Houston Heights, one of the earliest gas stations built in the neighborhood. It had been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1983, but the small brick station was demolished over a weekend in the summer of 2013 despite its historic designation.
