About this tour

Seguin has been calling itself Pecan City since before anyone put a number on it, and in 1962 a local dentist made the boast literal: a thousand-pound concrete pecan on the courthouse lawn, the self-declared World's Largest. Half a century later a bigger, fiberglass rival went up across town, but the real story runs underneath both of them — a river the Spanish named for its pecan-lined banks, and a century-old dam that still turns that river into electricity. This drive connects Seguin's two giant pecans to the water and the history that actually earned the town its nickname.
