History

The White-Aiken House is a Texas farmhouse built in the early 1900s and moved to its present site in Salado around 1920. It takes its name from Gus White, who built the house after marrying Emma Hamblen, and from Carl Aiken, who with his wife Anna Hamblen and her widowed mother Alice Hamblen lived there for many years. The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a stop on the Salado Historic Landmarks tour.
