The Fowler House in Salado was built in 1872 by Josiah Fowler, a Tennessee native, Confederate veteran, college teacher, and co-editor of 'Fowler's Arithmetic.' The two-story residence is a good example of the Greek Revival style, noted for its symmetry and proportion. The state historical marker was erected in 1968.
