History

Coffee Cemetery is the enduring landmark of Coffee, a farming community that grew up on the banks of Coffee Creek about eleven miles southeast of Sulphur Springs. Settled before 1900, Coffee once had a church, a school, and this cemetery, but most residents moved away after World War II, and by the 1960s little besides the cemetery remained.
