History

This cemetery, listed as Shimek on some county maps, is more properly known as County Line Cemetery, taking that name from its position near the Lavaca-Colorado county line close to the old community of Shimek. It stood beside the County Line Methodist Church and County Line School, and its shaded grounds served that rural farming community.
