History

Youngs Chapel Cemetery lies in the northwestern quadrant of Red River County near Dimple, northwest of Clarksville, and grew from a schoolhouse, church, and burial ground. A deed in 1902 conveyed land from G. W. and M. A. Young to trustees for a school with church and burial use, and a further acre of the P. D. Midkiff survey was added in 1923. The oldest marked burial is Ethney J. Sappington, who died in 1889, and about 186 burials had been documented by 2004.
