The Starr Family Home State Historic Site is a historical site in downtown Marshall, Texas, operated by the Texas Historical Commission, that portrays about 150 years and four generations of one of the most influential political families of the Republic of Texas and early statehood era. Its centerpiece is Maplecroft, a two-story, modified late Greek Revival frame house commissioned by James Frank Starr and built around 1870-1871, with craftsmen and materials shipped from New Orleans. The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 and made a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1986. The family donated the property to the State of Texas in 1976, and after the last owner's death in 1985 it opened to the public in 1986.
