History

Hopewell Cemetery lies in the northeastern quadrant of Red River County and is a historic community burial ground with a Texas Historical Commission marker. The oldest marked burial is Sammie Thomes, who died in September 1882, and by 2004 about 193 burials had been documented at the site.
